HASKELL TWINS IN NEW ENGLAND

Pat and I visited my Twin Sister Mercy and her husband, Bancroft Wheeler at their lovely South Natick home on the Charles River in early June. Our daughter, Margaret, was with us. She spent lots of time with the Wheelers when she was a high school student at Dana Hall. We ate a delicious lobster casserole at the Wheelers with their friends and ours, Jake and Barbara Brown. The Browns usually cruise to Maine summers and visit us on the Damariscotta River. The next day we drove Margo to the FRamingham bus and Mercy took us on a tour of her marvelous garden!

A few weeks later, Mercy and Bats visited us in our South Bristol, Maine home and what nifty few days we had together. Of course, a Maine visit with us involves breakfast at Harborside, a couple of boat trips on my MORGAN and lobsters—this time, hard shells, eaten at our little cottage overlooking the new bridge at The Gut. Our boat-trips took us to see the Puffins on Eastern Egg Rock. Bats still wonders if those birds really were puffins but we are positive they were.

Mercy and I grew up together in a small Connecticut village named Moosup. We have shared the special relationship of Twins for more than 82 years and each visit these days is a special one. The Wheelers spend August on Cape Cod and we’re hoping to visit them there again this summer.

New England has always been special to me, growing up here. Summers in New England are extra special and we’re fortunate to be able to visit our New England family on these occasions.

Here's to the greatest twins in America. Great picture there too.

(I am a little jealous of all the great Maine visits this summer)

Buppy, how were the hard shells compared to the shedders?
